The Goonies Return Slot (Blueprint)

This is a sequel to a 2018 release that was titled, The Goonies. The newer version bears the title, The Goonies Return, and offers a similar gameplay style, but with improved graphics.

As with the original, it will be a branded game based on an 80s film. Given the previous game's extreme volatility and large top prizes, experienced players should look forward to The Goonies' return, and I will share some details about it below:

Game Set-Up

The Goonies Return uses the most common design that relies on 5x3 reels, plus 20 lines, just like the original.

However, I noticed a huge improvement in its potential, and features. Talking of features, I came across things like bonus features (6), Medallion Wild, and modifiers (7) among others.

Betting and Prizes

As a real money gamer, a wager will set you back just $0.10, but if you are a high roller, you can go for the highest which is $100 per spin.

I love the top prize that is available here, and as much as 50,000x the stake can be won in just one spin. The original title had its payout capped at $250,000.

The Goonies Return is highly volatile, but its decent RTP of 96% serves it well.

The Goonies Return Features

A wild that appears in the image of a Medallion plus its own logo serves as a substitute for the regular icons. This can also pay as much as what you can get from the top symbol whenever it forms its own combinations.

The Goonies Return offers 7 random modifiers, and they are known as One-Eyed Willy Modifiers:

Hidden Riches: on the 3rd reel will be a Mikey wild, and other premium icons will be converted into extra wilds.

Truffle Shuffle Wilds: they will come in to add overlay wilds, and probably convert them into multiplier wilds. Additional combos may get a reshuffle.

W-Invention Reels: as many as 5 adjacent reels will be synced via Data. There are chances of getting an upgrade to the symbols, and/or colossal symbols as well.

Lucky Coins: with this, you get the coin mystery symbols, and any additional new coins will trigger a streak respin feature.

Bonus Boost: extra scatters are added to the reels.

Win Spin: gives a guaranteed winning round.

Winning Spin: converts a losing round into a winning one.

The Goonies Return has a bonus feature as well, and this feature has up to six different actions that it could trigger. To access it, I needed at least 3 scatter symbols. This is what it can trigger:

Booby Trap: rewards you with a prize, an extra spin, or ends the feature altogether.

Waterslide to Wealth: get better on a trail and gather some prizes, with the hope of hitting the Big Money Bonus.

Skeleton Organ Free Games: offers 5 free spins, and here, sticky stacked icons that have a Skeleton Organ will appear on the reels. They will be converted into a single type of icon if you land a special symbol. In the end, it is possible to trigger extra free spins or some bonus games.

Fratelli Free Games: gives you 10 free spins, and wherever the Super Sloth Wilds land, there is a mark, whereby, you receive either wilds or some prizes during the last spin. Collect at least 5 cash icons, and advance to the Momma Fratelli feature.

Momma Fratelli Money Spins: as a streak respin feature, this symbol initially offers 3 spins. If new cash icons land, these will reset. Once it comes to an end, you can pick the bonus features or some extra spins.

Final Voyage Free Games: comprises of a walking Inferno Wild, plus an opportunity to upgrade the premium symbols. Afterwards, you get to trigger extra features including the One-Eyed Willy Riches (which gives you 3 respins, plus upgrades from numerous Goonie characters).

Theme & Design

Just like the older slot, this one is a branded game as well, and it has some characters from The Goonies.

I love the design is a comic book style, and the symbols include images Medallion, One-Eyed Willy, Pirate Flag, Chunk, Mikey, Data, Mouth, and four low-value Royals (J-A).

Conclusion

The Goonies Return is a great slot from Blueprint, with great pay, decent RTP, and amazing features.

Although it is a feature-tick title, it is important that you approach it with caution given its vicious volatility.
